For classroom libraries
Know every book on your shelf — and on theirs.
Scan an ISBN and the title, author and cover fill themselves in. Sort by bin or shelf. Then share your catalog with your grade-level team, so everyone can see what's already in the building.

From a box of books to a searchable catalog in an afternoon.
1
Scan or type the ISBN
Use a USB barcode scanner or paste the number. OurShelves looks up the title, author and cover. No ISBN? Add the book by hand.
2
File it where it lives
Tag each book with a bin, shelf or reading level. Search by title, author, tag or location, and find it by where you put it.
3
Share with your team
Make a group, invite colleagues, and share your whole library or just a few titles. Browse what everyone else has shared.
Duplicate detection
Scan it twice, and it asks before counting it twice.
When a book is already in your catalog, OurShelves offers to add another copy or skip it, so your counts stay honest when the class set of Wonder comes back from the hallway.
Illustration: scanning a book you already own offers to add another copy or skip it. It shows Wonder by R. J. Palacio, 3 copies, in Bin 7.

Groups & sharing
Before you buy it, check down the hall.
Groups let a grade-level team, a school or a book club see one another's shelves. You choose what's shared: the whole library or selected books. Your catalog stays yours.
Questions teachers ask
Do I need a barcode scanner?
No. A USB scanner is fastest, but you can type or paste any ISBN, or add a book by hand.
Who can see my library?
Only you, until you share it with a group. You decide whether a group sees everything or selected books.
